 South Africa (CCBSA) is offering an exciting In-Service Training opportunity within its Manufacturing Department. This role is ideal for students studying Chemical Engineering who require workplace experience to complete their qualification.

The successful candidate will report to the Unit Manager: Processing and will gain hands-on exposure to syrup room operationsautomation systemsprocess controlquality analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives Key Purpose

To support syrup room operations by producing final syrup supplied to production lines, ensuring all products comply with Coca-Cola KORE principles, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

 Specialist Analysis

  • Prepare syrups for production lines
  • Use SAP systems to ensure governance and compliance
  • Monitor and predict system and process controls
  • Conduct process validations
  • Troubleshoot basic automation and control failures
  • Perform specialised quality analyses
  • Record and analyse results using appropriate systems
  • Identify problems and improvement opportunities
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Calibrate specialist laboratory equipment

 Quality Auditing

  • Conduct internal quality audits and complete documentation
  • Review quality procedures of shift-based teams
  • Identify training gaps and communicate findings
  • Audit calibration procedures
  • Initiate corrective actions where required

 Problem Solving

  • Support production teams with technical problem solving
  • Participate in FFA’s as a functional expert
  • Ensure learnings are integrated into lab and analytic procedures

 Training Support

  • Assist with training needs analysis
  • Participate in CAP processes
  • Contribute to training material development
  • Assist with training production teams on quality analyses

 Continuous Improvement

  • Conduct specialised analyses to support improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate and recommend process optimisation opportunities
  • Support regional and divisional optimisation projects

 Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

 Educational Requirements

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy (40% pass)Primary & Secondary Schooling (K-12)
  • Currently studying towards a National Diploma in Chemical Engineering
  • Must have passed two South African languages (40% pass)
  •  Eligibility Criteria

  • Aged 18 – 35 years
  • Unemployed at the time of appointment
  • Must not have previously completed the same qualification or learnership
  • Must provide a letter from the institution requesting workplace experience

 Additional Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to control raw material stock
  • Understanding of planning and supply chain concepts
  • Ability to archive and manage data effectively
  • Good work planning and organisational skills
